Mecora ("we", "us") is a language-learning app and website operated at mecora.me. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it.

Delete your account: in the app under Me → Account → Delete account, or on the web at mecora.me/delete-account.html.

Information we collect

Account information. Your email address, used for passwordless sign-in codes, and the native and learning languages you choose.
Learning data. Your course progress, chat messages with the AI tutor, and custom courses you create.
Voice recordings. When you use speaking practice, your recording is processed to transcribe and score your pronunciation. Recordings are used to provide that feedback, not to build a voice profile.
Technical data. Basic logs (such as IP address and app version) needed to run and secure the service.

How we use it

To provide lessons, tutor replies, audio narration, and pronunciation feedback.
To keep your progress in sync across sessions and devices.
To maintain, secure, and improve the service.

AI processing

Tutor replies, lesson generation, narration audio, and speech transcription are produced with third-party AI providers (such as OpenAI). The text or audio needed for each request is sent to those providers to generate the result; we do not sell your data to them or to anyone else.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the service providers needed to operate Mecora (hosting, AI processing, email delivery), and when required by law.

Retention and deletion

Account and learning data are kept while your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and its data at any time by emailing us; we will remove it within 30 days.

Children

Mecora is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app or on this page.

Payments and subscriptions

Subscription payments are processed entirely by Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never receive or store your card number or banking details. To operate your membership we store your plan, its expiry date, and a store transaction identifier (used only to verify the purchase with Google or Apple and to keep your membership in sync — for example after a renewal or refund).
